The NBA betting action goes on with a loaded 11-game Wednesday card, bringing plenty of intriguing markets to the bettors, so we have prepared the best Nets vs. Knicks betting pick and odds along with the latest team stats and news.
Brooklyn and New York continue their four-game regular-season set with Game 2. According to BeMGM NY Sportsbook, the Knicks are home favorites to tie the series, as they lost at Brooklyn 112-110 as 6-point road dogs on November 30, 2021.
The Nets beat the Kings to stop a horrible streak   Â
The Brooklyn Nets improved to 30-27 straight up and 21-34-2 ATS on the season following a 109-85 victory to the Sacramento Kings this past Monday. They put an end to a horrible 11-game losing streak, playing as small 2-point home underdogs.
Seth Curry and Andre Drummond led the way for the Nets on their debut after joining the team in the James Harden trade. Curry racked up 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Drummond had 11 points, nine boards, four assists, and a couple of steals.
Brooklyn is without Kevin Durant (knee), while it’s still unknown when Ben Simmons will join the team. Nic Claxton should be ready to go Wednesday against the Knicks, but Kyrie Irving won’t suit up because of the medical protocols.
The Knicks are coming off another upsetting loss   Â
The New York Knicks fell to 25-33 straight up and 26-32 ATS on the season following a 127-123 overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder this past Monday. They embarrassed themselves, playing as double-digit favorites, while the lowly Thunder recorded their 18th victory of the season.
It was the Knicks’ second defeat in a row and 12th in their previous 15 outings at any location. New York made only 41.7% of its field goals and 30.0% of its 3-pointers. Julius Randle posted a triple-double of 30 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Evan Fournier added 29 points and five dishes.
The Knicks are still missing Derrick Rose (ankle), who should return to the floor in March. R.J. Barrett is recovering from an ankle injury, and he’s listed as questionable after missing the previous four games. Nerlens Noel is questionable to play as well. He’s missed the last five games due to a foot injury.
Trends:
Brooklyn:
- N/A
New York:
- 2-8 ATS in the last ten games overall
- 1-4 ATS in the last five games against the Atlantic Division
Brooklyn Nets vs. New York Knicks Pick
Both Brooklyn and New York have been pretty much terrible over the previous few weeks. Their Wednesday clash could easily go either way, and I lean the Nets because of their improved locker-room atmosphere. Brooklyn has finally put an end to a terrible losing streak on the back of a couple of new guys.
On the other side, the Knicks might miss R.J. Barrett once more, which is a huge blow for their offense. Barrett has been one of New York’s best players all season. He’s averaged 21.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game over his last seven outings.
Pick: Take Brooklyn Nets
The Total:
Although the betting trends suggest the over, I’m not expecting a high-scoring affair. Both teams have injury worries and will miss some of their key scorers. The over is 5-2 in New York’s last seven games overall, 4-1 in Brooklyn’s last five, and 4-1 in the previous five meetings between the Nets and Knicks.
However, the Knicks play at the slowest pace in the NBA, registering only 95.7 possessions per 48 minutes. They will look to slow down things against the Nets, who average 98.9 possessions per 48 minutes (11th in the NBA).
Pick: Go under
